Donald W. Ward founded D.W. Ward Construction Company in Durham in 1970 following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Colon Edgar Williams, a homebuilder in Eastern North Carolina. With talents both learned and inherited, his company built many attractive and quality projects for his clients over his 38 years in business.

While Don was President of D. W. Ward, Inc., his son Andy served as Vice President. Andy grew up working with his dad after school, on weekends and in the summer learning the construction business.   He worked through a four-year apprentice program and with more than thirty-four years of practical experience, has moved through all phases of the industry bringing him to his place now as the President of the company.

Upon Don’s retirement, Andy bought the company and began a new phase in the Ward family legacy.   Don’s legacy of delivering a quality product while focusing on the client’s need to stay within budget will continue because the team of experienced professionals at D.W. Ward Construction Company would not have it any other way.
